Fingering Brass 7.0

The application provides immediate access to fingerings, including alternate fingerings, covering the full playable range of each instrument. Users can retrieve fingerings based on either written or concert pitch, facilitating comprehensive practice and reference.

Supported Instruments include: F/Bb Double French Horn; A, Bb, C, and D Trumpets (including Cornet and Flugelhorn); Bb/F Tenor Trombone; Bb/F/Gb/D Bass Trombone; Euphonium; Baritone; and various Tuba types (Bb, CC, Eb, and F).

The 'Piano' feature displays note names, their positions on the keyboard, and up to eight pitches in Treble, Alto, Tenor, or Bass clef. The notation can be transposed to accommodate most instrumental transpositions.

Trombone fingerings include position guides for different valve configurations. Clef support varies by instrument:

• Bb/F Tenor Trombone, Bb/F/Gb/D Bass Trombone, Euphonium, and Baritone utilize Treble, Tenor, and Bass clefs.
• F/Bb Double French Horn, BBb Tuba, CC Tuba, Eb Tuba, and F Tuba support Treble and Bass clefs.

Note that Treble clef on brass instruments adheres to the British Band tradition of transposing notation for non-transposing instruments. This affects Bb/F Tenor Trombone; Bb/F/Gb/D Bass Trombone; Euphonium; Baritone; and BBb/Eb/F Tuba.

Instructions for Use:

• Select a written note by touching the staff; the corresponding fingering will be displayed, and the concert pitch played on the piano.
• Input a concert pitch on the piano to see its fingering and have its notation transcribed onto the staff in the current instrument's clef and transposition.
• If multiple alternate fingerings exist for a note, a navigation button allows users to browse through them.
• The 'Play Note' feature enables repeated playback of the selected pitch or fingering.
• The mute function provides access to fingering charts without accompanying sound.

To select a pitch:

• On the staff (transposed for the current instrument): Touch and slide vertically to choose the note; slide left or right for sharp or flat adjustments.
• On the piano (concert pitch): Drag within the area below the keyboard to shift the keyboard view; tap to play notes; touch & slide for pitch changes. Glissando movements will alter notation accordingly—raising or lowering pitch as indicated.
• Use up/down arrows to navigate chromatically across pitches without interacting with the staff or keyboard directly.
